Convincing home win
January 14th, 2008Saturday’s match at the Nou Camp against Murcia added another 3 points to Barcelona’s tally, although Real Madrid remain seven points clear after their Sunday night win.
Eto’o shows how much he was missed with 2 goals, the other two being scored by Gudjohnsen and Bojan. Henry also had a great match and although he didn’t score he was involved with three of the four goals scored.
This win after beating Mallorca last weekend should put Barcelona in the right frame of mind to start closing the gap with Madrid. With a Copa del Rey match against Sevilla on Tuesday, they play Racing on Sunday.

Barcelona takes 3 points against Mallorca

Victory at Valencia
December 16th, 2007Barcelona put on a convincing display of their talent in a 3-0 victory at Valencia’s Mestalla stadium. Samuel Eto’o looked completely happy to be back and his play - aggressive yet relaxed - helped him put two goals away before the half time whistle.
Although Valencia are going through a bad patch at the moment, Barcelona didn’t let up and the second half saw Gudjohnsen adding a third goal to Barcelona’s tally. However not all the news from last night is good - Messi sustained an injury and can’t be happy that he’ll miss the clash against Real Madrid next weekend.
Valencia’s supporters showed their displeasure with their team, waving handkerchiefs to indicate their displeasure. And by the final whistle the stadium had largely emptied, not worth the cold and rain for what is a dismal run for them.
Final score: Valencia 0, FC Barcelona 3

1-1 draw at Espanyol
December 3rd, 2007FC Barcelona continued their indifferent away form on Saturday night with a draw against rival Barcelona team Espanyol. Barcelona’s highlight of the match was Messi’s deep penetration inside the Espanyol defense followed by a pass to Iniesta who knocked the ball in.
Barcelona created far more chances than Espanyol, but failed to capitalise once more; they should have won the match, but once again failed to deliver the goods when it counted. With Real Madrid beating Racing it leaves Barcelona 4 points behind the league leaders.
The next match is against Deportivo on Sunday. Barcelona football tickets are still available.
Barcelona-Recreativo
November 26th, 2007While the first half may have been a little slow at the Nou Camp on Saturday night, the second half more than made up for it with three goals scored and a forth disallowed due to a bad offside decision by the referee and the result means that Barça’s have an unbroken series of wins at the Nou Camp this year.
The first goal was from Gabriel Milito in the 64th minute, followed two minutes later by Bojan Krkic, who was brought in in place of Gudjohnsen and Lionel Messi adding the third from an 81st minute penalty.
The next match is the Champions League match against Lyon on Tuesday night, followed by Espanyol-Barcelona in the first leg of the Barcelona derby.
Getafe beat Barcelona
November 11th, 2007Barcelona’s trip to Madrid on Saturday ended in failure when the team that humiliated Barcelona in the Copa del Rey last season beat the visitors 2-0.
3-0 home victory
November 5th, 2007After a series of matches where they just didn’t look like their hearts were in it, Barcelona showed a convincing form last night against Betis in which we saw goals from Henry in the 32nd minute and Ronaldinho in the 52nd and 90th minutes.
The win puts Barcelona just 1 point behind Real Madrid, who lost to Sevilla on Saturday and should boost the confidence of Barça ahead of the Champions League match against Rangers on Wednesday.
